We do not find an epithet enthusiastic enough to express our admiration for this little masterpiece for children.
First of all, we enjoyed a delicate pleasure as we flipped through this artistic volume, with exquisite and naive engravings, signed by the best designers: Benjamin Rabier, Alix, Blanchet, Cellier, Dick Dumas, Fauconnet, Girieud, May. (We do not make fun of you, little readers!) But, did we say, in petto, the fish will be as tasty as the sauce is delicate and light?
Our prejudices in this respect soon vanished to make way for a growing joy, and the more these stories, real epistolary pearls exhaling an exotic perfume, were lost in our eyes, the more we pushed out of oh! and ah !, delighted, regretting not having on hand an audience of young and old, to feast on these wonders (...) |
