Pierre Paul Girieud, born in Paris on June 17, 1876, has just died at the National House of Painters' Retreat, after a long and painful illness. His father was director of Saint-Gobain in Marseille. He studied in this city and then at the Lycée d'Alais. Arrived in Paris in 1900, he moved to Montmartre. In 1902, Girieud exhibited for the first time for freelancers, then regularly until 1911. After trips to Italy and a stay in Siennes in 1905, 1906 and 1907. He was at the front from August 4, 1914 to January 21, 1919. He exhibited every year at the Salon d'Automne where he was a member of the honorary committee, sometimes to the Independents. His funeral took place on Thursday December 30 at the church of Nogent-sur-Marne.
