... It is an art that everyone can, if not understand, at least feel and taste, because it is simple, pure of all compromise. Although very different in its processes and in its objects, it has the flavor of the primitive sounds of which I spoke a moment ago: sincerity, the very clear expression of what one wants to say. Moreover, some of these artists took the primitives as inspiration, if not as models. Not to mention the colossal Gauguin who studied at its very source the robustness of life, of a humanity in childhood, one can notice in a corner, a scene of Moses saved from the waters, which Pierre Girieud took pleasure in treat in the Sienese manner and which he placed in a stylized landscape of the environs of Siena....
