Contained about Girieud
In the year of Grace 1912, in the clear and cold night, moving towards the pole star the three painters, accompanied by their host from the Pradines castle dominated by the village of Grambois in Vaucluse, took the forest path they had been following each morning for two months to reach the hermitage of Saint-Pancrace where they had just finished the three frescoes on the porch preceding the small chapel. (....) In this little corner of the earth, from the Tour d'Aigues to the Bastide des Jourdans, from Cabrière to Peypin, from La Motte d'Aigues to Vitrolles, at the top of the Luberon, we knew that the hermitage had just been decorated with fresco paintings by three young painters: Georges Dufrénoy, Alfred Lombard and Pierre Girieud; curiosity helped, the chapel threatened to be too small to house such a large number of devotees eager to attend the Midnight Mass. The poet Joachim Gasquet, Marie Gasquet, the organist Joseph Bonnet and the Curé of Grambois explained to these brave people, willing to admire with confidence, the subjects of the Adoration of the Kings and the Shepherds by Girieud, Sermont on the Montagne de Lombard and the Piétà of Dufrénoy, and emphasized to them the intentions of the painters; (....) - Reproduction of the Adoration of the Kings and an engraving depicting Grambois
