Contained about Girieud
A few days ago, we wrote a small paper to note that, in a London square, we were going to erect statues representing funny and kind characters from famous tales, familiar from childhood. We accompanied this news with a few words, and we noticed that childhood does not frequently have visions that are likely to please it. This meant that we were informed that special attention had just been given to some schoolchildren from Nice. It is at the Bischffsheim school, excellently directed by our friend Mr. Martin, that this happy innovation in the artistic field has just found its framework ... and this word is here in its place, since it is decorative panels. At the entrance to the girls 'and boys' school, two large signs catch the eye. Colorful, with broad lines, these panels have the appearance of modern frescoes, where the fun and the comical are close. We find charming or burlesque scenes there; Cinderella and the Little Thumbelina being in the spotlight and, at times of recess, it must be said how many schoolchildren and schoolgirls will admire their painting. These paintings were produced by a master, Mr. Pierre Girieud who donated to the Palais des Arts, at the 1937 exhibition, a large fresco, much noticed: The Twelve Months. Mr. Pierre Girieud is the brother of Mr. Girieud, a professor at our boy's high school. We send the artist our sincere compliments, expressing the wish to see beautiful images on the model of those he made in other schools in our city, to give children the reward of this holiday in color! - Reproduction of one of the fables -
