Contained about Girieud
Among the exponents who nominate themselves to my personal favor, I will arrange Paul Girieud. This painter, formerly of truculent exaggeration, is gradually moving towards mastery by seeking both the harmony of lines and volumes, the value of the plans and the beautiful balance of the composition. I congratulate him for bringing us here, besides his portrait of Morice, tulips (white background), Chrysanthemums (green background) and iris (orange background) .... Her Bather, a true composition that stands out from around her, varied, sagacious and voluntary; the silhouettes concordant towards the center stand up well opposite to the dominant figure, very plastic. Such sorts of pictures are so rare in our harlequinade exhibitions made of impressionist pieces and pieces, that I can not too much encourage praise for an artist who arrives at the personality by the sober way of the noble and imperishable traditions.
